‘The biggest threat to our environment is the belief that someone else will save it.’

This is our responsibility, to preserve our nature, which has always been a great source of crucial resources, precious metals, minerals, greenery. Whenever any of us is surrounded with a feeling of loneliness, sitting in the lap of nature, provides us immense satisfaction and peace.

We, youth, are the future stakeholders, the decision makers of future times, and it is our duty to learn to protect our environment from various threats that put our human existence at stake. It is our turn and we cannot step back. We need to make peace with nature, realize its significance and be active towards its protection.

We must understand the underlying truth of the on- going pandemic situation. Whatever we have been doing to the nature and its resources for the past years, it is just reverting it back to us. The humans have landed into a situation from where recovery is quite painful and tough. Restoring the normalcy of our lives shall be a really difficult task for us.

Environment is no one’s property to destroy, but everyone’s responsibility to protect.

Our nature is just a true masterpiece, a creation of Mother Earth, which needs to be protected. This responsibility lies on our shoulders to preserve this fascinating piece of nature so that our future generations can experience the joy of being in the lap of nature.

This environment is not just a home to us, humans. Several other creatures, be it animals, birds, marine creatures, plants and flowers, too have a right over this place. And we need to learn from these creatures about the actual way of living in the nature. Nature has blessed us with several resources like minerals, metals, trees, rivers, mountains, etc. What we need to learn is the correct way of using these resources to minimize wastage and ensure that these resources are used in the best possible ways, in order to fulfil the wants and needs of every section of society. But at the same time, we need to keep in mind that the resources of nature are limited and our desires and wants are unlimited. Hence, we need a proper allocation of these resources for fulfilment of our needs and requirements.

Development of our societies is a really crucial task and we must employ the natural resources for this purpose in order to make our lives more comfortable and make the world a better place to live in. However, exploitation of natural resources, in the name of development, poses a grave threat to our existence and to the well- being of our planet..

It’s high time now and keeping in mind the Sustainable Development Goals by the UN, emphasizing on Goal no. 13 Climate Action, we all are required to join hands together and work actively towards environmental protection and to restore the natural beauty of our planet Earth..
